King Kong Restored

Unlike the King Kong vs. Godzilla 50th Anniversary Screening, this presentation of the restored 35mm print of 1933's King Kong is a little closer to home. The Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas will be showing a series of movies preserved by The Film Foundation, Martin Scorcese's nonprofit organization dedicated to film preservation and restoration. They're showing 8 films every Monday night from May 7 to June 11, 2012. King Kong will be shown on May 28. (Of course, if you can't wait until then, you can catch it this Sunday, May 6, at the Montclair Film Festival in New Jersey).
